Islam’s
perspective of the Big Bang states many proofs from both Quran (Holy Book) and
from their God (God). The Quran was revealed to the last and final prophet
which is Muhammad (saw), who received guidance through the angel Jibrael from
God. An alternative proof from the Quran is from Surah or
Chapter 2. The verse states that “God made for you the earth like a bed and the
sky like a ceiling and sent down rain from the sky, and brought forth thereby
fruits as provision for you. So do not attribute to Allah equals while you know
[that there is nothing similar to Him].” (2:22) .This ayah is saying that God
made the Sky and the Earth just for you. He also made rain so the fruits could
grow, so why do you have doubt in Him.
One of the proofs for Allah creating the universe is from the Quran from Surah 2. The verse reveals that “It is (God) who created for you all of that which is on the earth. Then He directed Himself to the heaven, [His being above all creation], and made them seven heavens, and He is Knowing of all things (2:29). This ayah explains that God has the ability to create anything, including the heavens, the earth, the atmosphere, the humans and the like. God is aware of even the smallest details of His creations and has created a balanced system of life for them.
Another example that explains Allah creating the universe is from the Quran from Surah 13. This ayah informs that “It is Allah who erected the heavens without pillars that you [can] see; then He established Himself above the Throne and made subject the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term. He arranges [each] matter; He details the signs that you may, of the meeting with your Lord, be certain.” (13:2) (Sahih International) This ayah is informing us that Allah is the one who created everything. He states that he made the Sun and the Moon for a specific time, just like he did for us. He even tells us that we will one day meet Him, and this is something that will really happen.
An additional example from the Quran can be from Surah 13. This ayah declares that God is the one “who spread the earth and placed therein firmly set mountains and rivers; and from all of the fruits He made therein two mates; He causes the night to cover the day. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.” (Sahih International), (13:3).The explanation of this ayah is that God created everything in this universe. This includes the beginning of the worlds. These creations that God constructed are a sign to those who disbelieve, and have doubt in this religion.
Another proof from the Quran is from Surah 21. The verse states “Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and God separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?” (21:30). This ayah asserts that the heavens and earth were formed as one and later separated by the will of God. He has also made water for every living thing that is living. He has made it for the past, present, and future.
In the Quran, it was also revealed in Surah 41 that God “directed Himself to the heaven while it was smoke and said to it and to the earth, "Come [into being], willingly or by compulsion." They said, "We have come willingly” (41:11). This ayah is saying that while God was directing Himself to heaven while there was still some smoke God said to the Earth something, the Earth obeyed with no complaints. So whatever God says to his creations they do it.
Additionally, Surah 45 emphasizes that the believers need to recognize that the heavens and earth are signs of the existence of God. These ayahs declare that “Indeed, within the heavens and earth are signs for the believers.” (45:3) This ayah is saying that the universe is a sign for the believers, so that means that the big bang is not the creation of the universe it is God.
In addition Surah 45 expresses that the “alternation of night and day and [in] what Allah sends down from the sky of provision and gives life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and [in His] directing of the winds are signs for a people who reason” (45:5). This ayah describes the creation of night and day as well as how the earth sustains life for the creations of God. It is emphasizing the perfect order, balance and systems that reflect the thought and care of God as Al-Mughith (the Sustainer).
Furthermore, in Surah 51 a verse is revealed that “And the heaven God constructed with strength, and indeed, God is [its] expander (51:47).” This ayah is stating that God does everything with His strength, care, and love.
The Quran contains numerous evidence that God is the source of the “Big Bang.” For instance, in Surah 57 God declares that “He is the First and the Last, the Ascendant and the Eminent and He is, of all things, knowing.”(57:3). This ayah provides the attributes of God in order for creation to fully understand and recognize Him as the ultimate King (Al-Malik) of the Universe. It describes who God is; stating that He is the First of Creation and He will be the Last of Creation. In addition, God is Al-Baqi or The Everlasting which means His life is perpetual – it never ends.
A further example from the Quran is also from Surah 57. This is ayah exclaims that God is the one “who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He knows what penetrates into the earth and what emerges from it and what descends from the heaven and what ascends therein; and He is with you wherever you are. And Allah, of what you do, is Seeing” (57:4). This ayah is saying that God made the Heavens and the Earth in six days. He knows what is in the Earth and in the Heavens. If there was no one who made the Universe, then who would know what is going on in the worlds.
